What is it for a L98 other than exhuast or gears? Am I running out of worthwhile inexpensive bolt ons?
I was thinking of Ignition control box like the MSD 6AL or digital and Edelbrock intake and runner combo?? Would help the upper end I fugured.
What you guys think? Recently did Chip, Mach underdrive, and 52MMB TB and removed the frisbee with good results last time you guys helped me out with this question.
I'm an LT1 dude, but aside from gears I would vote for the intake system. Either the miniram or superram depending on what you are wanting in the end. Heads will have to come out as well to take full advantage of the intake.
neither intakes are inexepensive though. I really like my SR setup but I don't know how it would preform with a stock cam and head combo. Do you have an adj fuel pressure regulator? How about 1.6 roller rockers?
i vote for MSD digital 6. If you do an intake change youll need a chip reprogram, which altogether cost a bunch. But with that high a TC stall, id get gears, 3.54s or better.
OK, thanks. The engine is all stock inside, and with the high miles, want to keep it that way. Rockers were mentioned last time, and yet again this time. Aare the gains really worthwhile?
May have to go with rockers and MSD control for a little more speed if it works. I have no adjustable fuel regulator, I made a mess and had a gasket problem last time I did one on a TPI camaro, but it may have been a poor brand.
I know I'll probably take alot of flame for this, but the BEST band for the buck would have to be Nitrous. If you take all the prescribed precautions, stay under 100hp shot, and you try to keep the "bottle time" to a minimum, your motor should be OK.
Now, building in 100hp into a NA motor is always better, but this is the quickest and cheapest way to get another 100hp, only when you need it.
Otherwise, within your choices, I would go with a better intake system. Good luck:)

Re: Best bang for the Buck? (TexCorvette)
The only thing I can suggest is to put your car on a diet(which it seems like you have already done to some extent). That can sometimes be free. What I am really wondering about is the Vox wheels, do you have a pic?, cause I don't think I have seen or heard of these.
You will feel some gain from a 160 deg stat & fan sw as well as cut-back spark plug ground electrodes. Relocate the MAT into the air filter lid for more accurate intake air temps.
Go with a HyperTech AFPR and Accel fuel gauge and tighten the Torx bolts s l o w l y to avoid stripping them. I'm not sure about SD but think you could do some fuel flow tuning.
I didn't record any gain from 1.6:1 ProMagnums but was having false knock problems at the time. I did the valve stem seals and springs along with this one and some Ti retainers to up the valve float limit.
You could do the spare & jack delete and carry a tire plug kit for an effective 5hp gain (about 50lbs loss). Also run with 1/4-3/4 tank of fuel to hold down total weight.
The above mods should add 20-30hp at the crank of an L98.
BTW, my L98 now has about 112k miles and gets a regular flogging at the local strip; running strong.
The MSD6AL will not boost your L-98 HP. It may help smooth out the idle though. Roller Rockers will add as much as 20. I got 50 HP boost from 1.6 RR and headers.
I think you will have to dig deeper to get more. HP costs, how fast do you want to go?
There really isn't a lot of cheap bolt ons that you haven't done to your L98. Most of the mods (intake, headers) would be low hp/$$ but would set you car up for if you decide to heads/cam.
Have you bypasss the throttle body coolant and parted the EGR wall behind the Throttle Body?
The ignition box will smooth out your idel and lighten your wallet but will not add any HP. For more HP your going to have to dig deeper into the babys college fund and let the engine inhale and exhale easier.
