Anti-Lock-Brake
After doing an upgrade to C5 fronts, slotted rotors all around, Hawk HPS pads and a DRM proportioning spring in the master cylinder I drove the car for about 300 kilometers (200 miles) with no problems. I backed the car out of the garage and then shut it off, when I restarted it the Anti-Lock-Brake light was on. I haven't tried to see if the ABS actually still works, I have to find a good place to try it first. The brakes are fine and stops well but I need to get the system checked out. Is there any way to test the sensors on the four corners before I take it to someone? I do have the FSM to start the trouble shooting but it would be easier to take it and have the ABS tested and possibly find the problem quickly?
Thanks John
1) check the fuse
2) check to see that there is proper clearance on the abs sensors and that one of them has not been damaged or come loose after the install.
3) refer to your FSM - some of the expliantions are quite difficult to understand if you're not used to the way they're written.
Sorry don't know of any shop in your neck of the woods that I can recommend.
I will be checking it over tonight before I go for a drive, probably for the fourth or fifth time, but I do agree that the FSM is a bit difficult to understand!
