Local shop broke band around wheel for low tire sensor. Replaced it but now it always shows low tire pressure. Is there a way to reset or recalibrate??
All tire pressures are correct (I'm told), Everything was fine when driving home from shop. Then, when driven the next day, warning indicator came on.
I suppose if they broke the band they could have damaged sensor also??

Yep, they probably did damage the sensor as well. It could even have come loose and be rattling around inside the tire like mine was. I just had them all removed. They are hard to find, costly and not worth much IMO. I know how to check my tire pressures on a regular basis all by myself.
I'm not sure but I think when the new sensors are put on you have to set them someway by using a magnet . I think I saw an instruction video or something that when the tire was put back on a magnet was rubbed where the sensor was located. Maybe I was seeing things.
When I got my new wheels put on last year, the shop broke one of the sensors also. They ordered a new one from the Chevy dealer and installed it. No issues since then with the sensor, and there is no learning procedure or install procedure -- just bolt it on and go. However, each wheel has its own sensor -- they are color-keyed for each wheel and must be in that order or you will get an error code even if your tire pressure is good. Make sure your friend has the right sensors on the right wheels! It says the correct order in the Factory Service Manual (don't have one on me now -- I'm at work).
