Digidash - Light sensor / dim & bright control inoperable
I had a web page bookmarked which showed how to check the operation of this and how to fix it (or so I thought). The URL I have is dead. :( I didn't print it out unfortunately. Anyone have any directions. I figure now is the time since the dash is on the workbench. :) Here's my old dead URL (incase it's just down temporarily or moved or something). Maybe someone recognizes this and has the info saved to disk. :)

Thanks for any leads / info. I found nothing in the archives or tech tips about this & the service manual treats the dash like a black box basically. ~Juliet

I just went to http://www.google.com and typed in the batee digi dash repairs and found the site and was able to access it from google.
When I copied and pasted it and tried to go to it again,it wont allow me to...weird..you can go to google and find mt of his stuff there.

The dimming of the dash is a circuit on one of the cluster printed circuit boards and GM provides absolutely no information or parts on the cluster. I have been trying for a year now to obtain a schematic and have been unsuccessful. A partial schematic is posted on batee's site.

Thanks for the link. :-) He moved the pages. But it doesn't go into repairing whatever it is which causes the dim & bright control to die. I could have sworn I'd read about that somewhere.... ~Juliet

Thanks jfb. Do you know how to go about troubleshooting the light sensor bright / dim operation? Mine wasn't ever functional since I purchased the car. It really wasn't clear from batee's web site what the problem might be with that part of the dash. Thanks, ~Juliet

Well, the automatic light sensor thing still doesn't work but it's all back together and BRIGHT with the new bulbs. :) If anyone figures out how to fix that feature or at least trouble shoot it or finds any web pages with info on it, please let me know. At least the manual dim by turning the light **** works. Thanks for the help everyone. ~Juliet
