Default Tuning after injector change?

My mechanic friend and I are prepareing to install new injectors on my 90 stock L98. I keep reading that a tune is required when finished. I know nothing about this procedure. Can anyone tell me what " tuning " a L98 after a injector change means? Thanks, Allentown Ernie.

I'm doing this exact job on the same year vette this morning....

If your keeping the same size injectors no tuning is necessary, but you will need to reset the ECM... Take the leads off the battery and turn the headlight switch on for a 1/2 hour or so...

The ECM needs to relearn the idle settings with the new injectors.. even though they're the same size they still flow a little different...

Not an expert, but that's what I've read on here... Did you get the Bosch 3's from FIC ??? that's what I settled on...

When you read about the tune it is due to a cam change, larger injectors, etc...

If you are just replacing the stock injectors just fire it up.

Resetting the computer may not be a bad idea but I don't know if it is necessary, you will have the battery disconnected anyway. Ithink that you just have to flip your headlights on to bleed any residual current off.

Now, if you changed injector size, you need a chip tune or adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

No "tune-up" is required, if you are using the same rated injectors. As state in previous posts, disconnect the battery, turn the ignition on, turn on the headlights, turn off, turn off the ignition. After fuel injector replacement, strat the car and let it run for 10-15 minutes at idle, in order to reset the ecm.
