That's a super broad question, too broad to really answer. You might as well have asked, "I'm going to Europe, know any good places to eat?" We don't know what kind of food you like, where you are going in Europe, what your budget is, etc...

With your car we don't know your goals, tuning ability, how you plan to tune the car, etc...

If you are looking for more power than stock, but decent drive ability the CC305 is tough to beat. It's almost identical to the GM LT4 hotcam, just a shade bigger.

I don't really like the CC306, but you can't argue with the results some have put up with it. It also sounds pretty tough at idle.

Lots of the relatively new XFI grinds are good, I put the 280 in my car. My car is still torn apart so I don't have any first hand experience with it, but I think it should work pretty well.

You won't see much of a gain without doing away with the TPI intake system. Any cam with some meat on it is going to want to rev past 5000, and anything resembling the stock TPI just won't support something like that.

Good luck, let us know what you decide to do.

short answer: no

both require more spring pressure & also greatly benefit from an increase in intake and exhaust flow.

Compcams has a group of hyd. flat tappet Thumpr cams that makes a really nice lopey idle, like their roller cam sets, for the price of a normal flat kit. The number is CL12-600-4 on summit.com, and is about the biggest you want to go without doing MAJOR intake work. Porting your heads(since your profile says intake is ported) will make the best of it, along with a 2200+ stall converter. Your current gears are good for the setup.

Hope this helps.

All excellent points. and I have to ask, to remain consistent, Comp is a great company, but did you consider any other cams? Or a custom grind?

Have you considered future mods? The cam is the heart of the engine and will dictate whatever you do going forward. Intake, heads, exhaust, will all be based around this cam. I'd think a little further ahead, sacrifice a little today for what you will have tomorrow. Unless there are no future mods.
