Default Injector replacement -- what else is needed/suggested?

Getting ready to replace the injectors on my '91 L98 auto -- besides the injectors themselves, what, exactly do I a) *need* (gaskets, gasket sets, o-rings, seal, etc.)? and b) *should* check or replace while I have the top end apart (fuel pressure regulatory, any sensors, etc.

Thanks for your assistance!

I would rebuild the fuel pressure regulator. I removed the fuel rails when I did my injectors. I polished the aluminum and replaced the gaskets and o rings on the rails.

Default Thanks

for all of the great info, I'm going to have to do some reading!

One other question, it is easier/better to replace the fuel pressure regulator with a new adjustable one? or just replace the OEM gasket etc?

Thanks again!

Joe

It's the same work installing a new Diaphram or an aftermarket adjustable fuel regulator.

If you buy an adjustable fuel regulator, get the Holley because it has a lower profile and a big aluminum **** which makes adjustments easy.

Are you sure these are the correct regulators for a 5.7L TPI car.

You can get all the needed gaskets in a FelPro Top End gasket set for your Vette; Auto Zone should have them in stock.

I strongly suggest that you run the fuel level in the tank down close to empty before opening the two fuel lines in front of the intake base...

It may help on reassembly if you bag & label all the bolts as you disassemble.

Default Throttle body bypass?

What is this throttle body bypass I've read about? Is it worth it, pros/cons, and would it be any easier to so while I have it apart for the injectors or is easy enough to do by itself at a later time? Thanks!

Well worth it; now is the time to do it. I did.

If you need more info, search this forum for bypass.

Yes, I've used this Holley AFPR on my previous "89" L98. Fits perfectly and is very easy to adjust without any tools.
