o2 sensor removed

o2 sensor removed

I have a 1988 vette, I removed the cat with a bypass wondering what to do with the o2 sensor. Ive heard that an open loop will cause trouble what can i do to rectify this problem without putting cat back on.

Have a muffler shop weld in a bung and reinstall it.

what would be the result if I didnt reinstall it.

Won't go into closed loop so your fuel economy will suffer for one.Open loop is pre programmed settings; closed loop adjusts for driving conditions

You will pay at the pump. Put it back. It is a critical component in your EFI system!
