Having trouble.....car hesitates/breakdowns at WOT....

any ideas where to start....what to check out...

I figure.... Cap, Rotor, somehow check the injectors (anybody know how to do this)...I remember some one posting something.....

any other ideas?

those would be my first thoughts as well, you have to check the resistance on the injectors to tell if theyre bad or hook up a fuel pressure gauge.

anybody know what the resistance should be at idle on the injectors?.....can i use a regular meter on them?

I had this problem on my 93. Occasional hesitation under WOT above 4000 RPM. Especially did this when hot. Turned out to be a bad opti. New plugs and wires before replacing the opti helped me out a lot (to the point where it hardly ever did it anymore)

update!!!.....she's stumbling bad now.....does it at part open throttle now....and even when Iam not really getting on it.....at stop signs and coming to a stop in a parking lot....died twice.....when i restarted it.....did not like it....started up...rpms jumpin back and forth until finally smoothed out.....feels just like fuel shut off is occuring.....like when you run your car down to 1/8 of a tank; floor it going around a corner......you get the cutting out feeling.....NEED HELP GUYS....really want to fix this.....thanks jeff

well if shes doin it all the time, then id say cap, plugs, wires, and rotor should be changed, if youre anxious to find an answer id run a search

I'd check the fuel pressure too, it could be the pump going out.

UPDATE...FIXED....

Bad Cap and Rotor....had black poopie all on it....

this is like my 4th since I have owned the car....hmmm i dunno bout that....but this last one lasted bout yr and a half....or 10,000 miles....

well she's back running excellent again....I swear feels like night and day...i picked up like 20-30 extra horses...
