The 3.45's come with a 3-series carrier. You'll either need to purchase a 4-series carrier for the 4.10's...OR pick up a set of 4.10 "thick" gears which will permit the use of a 3-series.
One other issue to note: The D44 used in C4's is actually a variety called a "Super44", which uses the thicker pinion shaft from a D60. Make sure that whoever you work with knows C4's and understands the difference.
I used DTS ( http://www.drivetrainspecialists.com/ ) for my swap. They have both the std and "thick" gearsets available. I R&R'd the rear-end and just sent the differential case to them for the actual swap. The entire project was done for ~ $450, including the freight charge to ship the diff both ways. If you call them, ask for Rich Perkins, and mention the CF forum for a discount.
BTW - Going to 4.11's is probably the best bang-for-the-buck mod I've made on this car.
In my opinion, swapping in a new rear end is cheaper and easier. Although a "thick" gear can be used on a D36, the D36 is already stressed. No sense aggravating the problem more. If you have a 2.59, swap in a used 3.07 rear. I did mine for about $300 total. That gives you the series 3 carrier so you can safely change to a 3.54 or 3.73 later on if you want.
