Re: Changing Oil Pressure Sensor on 87... (TIMSPEED)
I changed mine out when I put a new lower intake. On my 89, the sensor is in a coupla 90* elbows.Even with the dist. and intake off, it wouldn't come out because it hits the firewall. Had to unscrew one elbow first, then the other. I am not sure, but I think you can just un-screw the sensor only. I used a little rtv on the threads.
Goodluck

I changed the oil p switch and the oil p sender while I was back there, you have to take the wiper motor out and that is the hardest part of the whole thing NAPA has them a good price. Good Luck :)

I pulled the wiper motor to get at mine, too. Only 3 bolts, 1 nut, and an elect connection. Then you can get at those two senders.
Replace them both. Eventually one will crack and leak oil like crazy...But it comes out down by the oil filter and is very hard to diagnose...Lots of misdiagnosed leaks get "fixed" when one of these fails...

I agree about changing it out. My oil pressure was terrible then I changed and now it's great. Bonus is no leaks now either. For certain, remove the wiper motor.
