I have 86' conv. 4 weeks new to me...last night noticed purple..ish fluid leaking from passenger side ,pan under radiator..couldnt see how trans or brake fluid can be leaking from radiator overflow pan..I flushed clear water into the pan and it came out clear..doesnt leak a lot and only when engine hot..
HELP..any pointers would be greatly appreciated.......Deacon
Your transmission, whether it be automatic or manual for your year has tranny fluid cooler lines going to the radiator.......on the passenger side. You probably have a loose cooler fitting leaking ATF.
Re: Strange fluid leak..Radiator pan (Romeo Barrera)
Romeo....Thanks for the reply, after reading posts all day long to try and find some one that had a similar leak.(with no luck)..your answer is appreciated..I cant find any info on atf cooler lines to the radiator...I guess I have to find the line, then determine if i need to get underneath it or start taking apart the radiator cowling....Thanks
