When I lower the drivers window on my '95, I hear a sharp clank when the window bottoms out. It lowers straight and true and raises the same. Anyone else have that issue? What did you find?
Mike
There is a little rubber pad that sits on the bottom of the inside of the door and acts as a cushion for the regulator when it comes down. The pad has a little arrow head shaped piece that pokes through a slot in the bottom of the door and this "arrow piece" holds the pad in place. You can open the door and look at the bottom and you should see the 2 bolts that hold the window regulator and the little rubber "arrow head". If you don't see the "Arrow head" then that would be my first guess as to the source of your noise.
I have replaced both regulators in my 86'. It is not hard, but it does take a good bit of time. I just replaced the passenger side regulator this past Saturday, and I would say I spent a good 3 hours on it.
