I'll be due for new tires by mid year. Could run flat tires be mounted on stock 93 wheels without any problems? Anyone ever run with or is currently using run flat tires? I don't plan on running the car at the strip. Just the streets
and highways. Opinions?
Our `96 has the spare tire delete option, so we almost have to use run-flats. I say almost because we could buy another tire and carry a can of fix-a-flat, etc., but why take the chance? For our peace of mind, it just makes sense to use run-flats.
Yes, Goodyear GSC-EMT's will fit your 93 wheels. Do you have 8.5's front and 9.5's rear? Do your wheels have the Low Tire Pressure sensors?
We just bought a new set of Goodyear EMT's before Christmas, they are stored in a bedroom for now, but I plan on running the old tires until fear factor forces me to change to the new ones!
I'm running run flats, GSC-EMT's also. Came from the factory with them. You will need to get the sensors if you don't have them. Very important on a tire that you can't tell from driving or looking at that it has no air in it. Drove about 50-60 miles on a rear tire that was flat, 0 air pressure. The only way I could tell it was flat was my DIC indicator came on and I checked it. Drove home on I-95 doing 55-60mph. Great tire for not getting stuck, lousy tire for drag racing. :D
