Default TV Cable adjustment ??? 2 methods ???

Hi everyone
i was watching the transgo shift kit video for the TH700R4
and the tv cable adjustment method is different than the B&M method i have on my shift kit sheet.-

i installed the b&m shift kit and it didn't impress me at all.-
Maybe i didn't adjust it well !

- B&M Sheet TV Cable resetting procedure :
1 - Turn off engine
2 - Depress and hold reset tab, then pull TV Cable housing in reset direction (to the firewall) i pushed that pencil-like slider all the way into the housing
3 - Release reset tab
4 - Gently depress throttle pedal to the floor board,tv cable will automatically reset.-

Out of curiosity i downloaded Transgo installation video for the TH700R4
http://www.transgo.com/video.php
and im surprised their method is not the same (maybe this method
achieve the same results)

Download it and see it !
They use this method :
1 - Depress the reset tab
2 - Pull the "black pencil like slider" as far as it can go
2 - Call a buddy, and make him floor the gas pedal to the floor
4 - With the pedal floored, depress the tab,and push the "black slider" all the way to the back until it stops, release the tab and let it lock
"this is maximum t.v." they say,Then mark it with a jigsaw...

im confused now

I am not a trans expert, but what I know is that 'tuning' the trans via a TV cable is not a good idea. It appears that the trans go method will set the cable w/zero available cable left. The guy who built my trans had told me when re-setting, the cable should not "feel" bottomed out (or zero cable left) and should have some cable left, about an 1/8" of visible cable left when the pedal is at the floor (or, the tb blade held open from outside the car). This becomes important when using different intakes and bracket assemblies. The mounting locations don't always line up the same and may need work, so as not to bottom out the cable, or to have enough available cable so it can be re-set correctly.

The above can be checked by putting a pair of vise grips on the cable end, have someone hold the cam all the way open, and pull the tip of the cable and see if what slack (if any) the cable has available.

Don't sweat it, they are basically the same. The clicking is the end of the cable. Either way you are setting full pull at full throttle. Just drive afterwards and verify that it shifts indr light/modrate thottle at the correct shift points and you will be fine.
