Looking to upgrade cam without affecting emissions, need help.
I'm looking for a cam that will give a nice lope/chop without affecting the emissions. Not looking for anything too radical, just more power, good sound, and emission friendly.
Current Mods:
Chip
Custom catback
Airfoil
Lower Fan Setting

Here is information concerning cams as they apply to the State of California....
Engine Build & CA Emissions Legal camshaft?
Lingenfelter 211
-Lingenfelter 213
-Lingenfelter 219 probably
-Comp Cams XE 262-F.I. series
-Crane 2032
I'd keep it under 220@.050
Some pass with the 219 out here, some don't. Guessing tuning could make the difference.
Not sure what cams are actually CARB approved but if you keep the advertised duration overlap below 56 degrees you should be fine. The CC 503 and Hot Cam both have 54.5 degrees and will pass a sniff test with good tuning and cats.
The Cc 503 (224/230 .533/.544 112 LSA) would be my choice as far as catalog cams go that will pass emissions and still make good HP/TQ with a lil rumble at idle.
