C4 headers
I am installing headers on my 85 Corvette and plan to do away with the emmission system. How do I bypass the oxygen sensor and can I do away with the emmission pump. The alternator is mounted to it. Thanks in advance for the help.

I appreciate the help - I went with long tube Headman Headers. Easy to install.

Buy the AIR delete bracket and use that.
You cannot bypass the O2 sensor, it MUST be installed.

What vader said. Without the 02 sensor a proper tune is next to impossible.

thanks Vader - the headers dont have a place for the 02 sensor, can i put the 02 sensor on the reducer after the header.
Also - what about the air valves that the smog pump attach to - can I remove those too?

Yes you can put the O2 bung in the collector. If its that far away, it could need to be a Heated O2 sensor (has a 3rd wire to a 12v source).
Anything with the AIR pump can be done away with entirely.

My concern is that there is a sensors in the air valve - will I get a check engine light? I also have a vacuum hose going to on of the air valves - just cancel it?

There are no sensors in the AIR system to cause a SES light.
You can run the vac hose to something else with a T-fitting.
