On my '90 when you push your fan buttons together you get this read out of numbers that tell you what is going on temp etc. There seems to be a few of them. Does any one know or have a list to what each one is telling you?
I would do a search but I have no idea what to start looking for
Try disconnecting the negative battery terminal for a couple of seconds and see if that resets the system. Note when you reconnect the battery and turn the ignition on, the system goes through a recalibration process which could take 30 seconds. After the calibration is done, the fan motor comes on. Press the Off button to shut the fan off.
****Disconnecting the battery cable will delete all codes stored in the AC Programmer.*****
When you press the up and down arrow buttons at the same time for 5 seconds you should see -00.
To see what number is stored in -00 which are system faults, you need to press the Auto fan button once. The Auto fan button is the button in between the up and down arrow.
If there are no system faults you should see 00.
If you don't see 00 you could see
01 Temp. door motor circuit Open
02 Temp. door motor circuit Short
03 Ambient Sensor Open
04 Ambient Sensor Short
05 In car Temp sensor Open
06 In car Temp sensor Short
07 Solar Load sensor Open
08 Solar Load sensor Short
09 Low Freon
10 Uart failure
Example:To look at other System parameters such as -02 you would press the up or down arrow till you see -02. To see what is stored in
-02you press the Auto button once.
-02 is In car Temp Sensor so you should see the in car temp displayed in the LCD after you press the Auto button.
I don't want to high jack a thread but Sweet90 seems to know about the Climate control. On my 87 if you disconnect the neg and reconnect it, the climate control system works. When you turn off the car and restart, the system doesn't fully work. The fans etc work, but the digital temp lcd readout doesn't show and the little yellow indicator lights are very dim....any suggestions?
