Default '94 courtesy light question

The manual for my '94 coupe says
Courtesy Lights: When any door is opened, the interior lights will go on (unless it’s bright outside). The lights will stay on for about 30 seconds or until you turn on the ignition.
and in fact when the driver door is opened the lights do stay on for about 30 seconds or until I turn on the ignition. But when it's the passenger door that's opened the lights go off immediately on closing it. Is this typical?

Thanks!

John

'92 Coupe here.

Just went out to the garage to check for ya.

Passenger door lights go off immediately on closing the door.

Driver's side...30 seconds.

I didn't fiddle with any keys.

Sounds like yer perfect!

Thanks a million (glad I was able to get someone in a later time zone interested in my question!) John
