How do I remove the rear tailight assembly from a 1994 coupe.
I have had the license plate off to get my hand through to the back of the assembly and have removed the screws holding the lens in place but I am not able to get the assembly out.
I cannot feel any brackets, screws or bolts on the back of the assembly holding it in place.
I have tried pushing and prying it out but it does not seem to budge.

Did you already remove the outer lenses? There are two bolts on the back of each assembly holding them in.
To remove the mounting bolts for the inner taillight assemblies you have to access them through the license plate hole. FSM states that the Outer tailight assemblies can be accessed through the openings of the inner taillight assemblies
Once the lenses, rear bolts, and lamp sockets are removed the lamp housing should pull straight out. (outside of car not through inside)
Feel around on the assembly you'll feel the bolt heads, they are there.

They are hard to feel but they are there - 2 of them - one on each side. They take a 10mm socket.
Be careful. They tend to break the plastic mounts. I just had to order a new assembly because of that problem.
Very true. The plastic tends to get brittle with age and the bolts actually cut their way into the plastic bosses. I found the best thing is to use a bit of grease or silicone on the bolts so that they are less likely to break the plastic, and do NOT overtighten.
