Default Third O2 Sensor on a 95?

What does the third O2 sensor on a 95 do? I keep getting a code for a lean condition on the RH side O2 sensor and the car is loading up like the PCM is adding too much fuel. I could not find any codes published that relate to the second sensor on that side, so I'm wondering what the PCM uses it for.

The third o2 sensor on the 94-95 cars is pretty much useless, and won't throw a code.

Does that mean I can use the third one to swap out either of the primary ones, if bad, and save a few bucks?
