A friend's parents surprised me with a $200 gift certificate to Ecklers last night for rebuilding their computer for them at a critical time during my friend's semester at school when it crashed. I had said I wouldn't take any money, so they went and did this. Really cool of them! It also has a coupon that says 15% off any order of $150 or more (I think). So that actually makes it worth about $235.

So... what should I get?
That would be burning a hole in my pocket right now! :yesnod: At least you have some patience. :D

"I think this should be moved to another forum, along with other non-tec B.S."

Oh sorry, didn't realize it was 'non-tech' to ask what was best suited to get for a 158k mile car. My bad....

Well I just called Ecklers.

The bushings up above are provided to them by D-Engineering out of California. Has anybody ever heard of them?

p.s.

The kit contains the identical items as listed in Energy Suspension's HYPER-FLEX SYSTEM Complete Master Bushing Set p/n 3-18122.

$pend it on something you need. I'd do the bushings. I'm replacing the bearings in the back seeing the car is going to SIT due to the salt/sand(After I read your post) just 'cause of the mileage.

Now I'm torn. The bushings are from a company that I don't know of, even though the kit contains the same components as the well known ES kit. What to do what to do. I do really need a new rear hatch weatherstripping. That is $150, so maybe that and the WS install kit. I'd be happy with that. :)

ah... but does that hurt or help? if the bushings are of a good quality, get them...

Lets be honest, if the bushings that Ecklers sold were junk, the forum would know by now...

Not necessarily; I don't know of many people who have even installed these things, let alone from Eckler's.

Scorp if you're looking for a reading about a particular company's bushing product quality then ask over in C3. Of course you'll have to extrapolate from C3 to C4. The bushing subject comes up all the time. Let's face it, just about every C3 ever built needs bushing by now. :D

This makes it interesting......

1. I just called Energy Suspension, and Eckler's is listed in their customer database.

2. I just called Eckler's for a 2nd time and the lady I spoke with said that the kit is made by Prothane, a different answer from what I got last time.
