Rear End Going Bad??
I have been having a creeking noise coming from the rear drivers side suspension area when I take off from a stop. It is an 87 with a manual tranny. But anyway, I took it to the Chevy dealer to have them look it over figuring it would be a bad bushing or something along those lines... Well they just called me back and told me they think the problem is in the rear dif. And they want me to spend $1000 so they can tear it apart and look it over! Personally I don't believe them... I have blown rear ends before in trucks (mainly GM 10 bolts) and have never had a creeking noise upon take off as a symptom.
Has anyone ever bolwn a rear end in a C4? If so did you ever have a creeking noise before it was going bad?

most u joints in the 1/2 shafts are non greaseable . you want to check them out pretty soon , if a 1/2 shaft cuts loose .it will cost alot more than 1000 dollars to fix . if you can wrench at all its not hard to ck them out
