How come im on reserve?

I pumped 16.1 Gallons today but my guage was on reserve. How come if Ive got 4 gallons left would it go to reserve. 4 gals X 20 miles = 80 miles. Plenty of time right?

Typically you'll see it come on with <50 miles on the range gauge, or 2 bars on the gas gauge.

My reserve light always comes on when there are 2 bars left.

Mine lights up with 2 bars as well, except I only have less than 2 gallons left. CHUG-CHUG Remember you dont want to run below a 1/4 tank, it will shorten the life of your fuel pump. The fuel is what keeps the pump cool, when the tank is near empty the pump operates at a higher temp, thus shortening the life.

Don't forget you have fuel in the lines there and back in the LT1. And factory fuel gauges are typically uhhhhh not too acurrate. :smash:

I've run out of gas with three bars once or twice.. usually it
ll go down to no bars.. but every now and then... so i dont full around anymore.. i keep it no less than half full now
