Default Water pump swaperooo

While in a brief lull on the transmission project I decided to utilize the time and get the bad water pump changed. Everything is disconnected, the pump wiggles, but it doesn't want to come out. The only thing that can be holding it is the driveshaft, correct? Any tips?

Ahh, I didn't realize there were dowel pins. Thanks. I see the locations on the new pump now. That will help.

I had to give mine a couple of love taps with a rubber hammer.

It's out, and it was in bad shape, No outer bearing seal, a few ball bearings missing.

Optispark unit also is out. The rotor had broken off one of the two plastic rivets that hold it together. Metal piece was flopping around. Inside it was immaculate, but loose bearings. Was all set to pull it apart and replace the bearings but it doesn't look feasible. The collar that the rotor attaches to appears to be pressed on to the main shaft. I don't see any keyway for alignment.

A new opti just isn't in the budget right now, so the old one is going to have to go back in with a new cap and rotor. Pretty lucky, though, it was bound to fail completely before much longer.
