Default Extra part left over after heater core replacement..........

I was just cleaning up some stuff in my garage and came across a part that I had left over after replacing my heater core that I did a couple years ago. I'm assuming it's a duct for the ventilation somewhere, but does this look familiar to anyone and know where it goes? I thought if I could narrow it down to where it goes, it would save me some time next time I'm up under the dash.
Thanks,

Carl

I did my heater core in Nov before the weather turned cold, but if I remember right that tube goes to the heater exit on the pass side for the lap. I will look in my sevice manual to double check that, :yesnod:

That looks like the piece of duct work that comes off the main trunk. Do you have a stedy streem of air coming out of the hole in the hush pad on the passenger side? ...Let me see if I can get a pic for you.

It is part #24 near part #3. Remove the hush pad on the drivers side and you can easily re-install it.

It's the duct that goes on the duck work that screws on to the rear heater box it is to help with air flow to the side window vents, not real important so don't loose any sleep. I can be a bit tricky trying to install it. It can be done but it sures seems like something is going to brake when you do.

Thanks everyone for the responses, especially the graphic JonM.

I remember when I replaced my heater core, it was about 20 degrees, wife was pissed because her car had to sit outside for a couple nights, and I wasn't going to spend too much time trying to figure out where this thing went.

Thanks again,

Carl

Ok thank you! So now I know that is not the Problem with the AC going directly to the defrost vent on the dash automatically.

Don't worry about 1 xtra part, I had a couple dozen parts left over when I did my trans a couple years ago and runs better than ever.

Lol, so now the ? Is what would cause the AC to come on by itself after I start the car and go to the AC vent on the dash. I just put in a new AC control unit and it's still doing it. Any suggestions on what it could possibly be anyone?

He was pointed towards the thread by the OP from his post just yesterday.

Well I meant to suggest the poster either add the post to his original OR maybe it might be appropriate to just start a new thread with the new problem.

"Estevenson" - I believe I'd start a new thread mentioning your new problem, and of course the year and the type of AC that you have.
