Default Clear Distributor Cap?

Does anyone know where to get one for a L98? The ones Ive seen all have the clamp down caps instead of screw downs.

The clamp down type large HEI caps fit the screw down type distributors too (for large caps). Interchangeable. Doesn't work the other way around - screw down type caps Have to go onto distributors with the screw holes drilled and tapped..

So how does the clamp down cap with where the stock one was a screw type? Does it just go right in place?

Goes into the stock location. But when you turn the "L" shaped clams with a screwdriver, they ride on the bottom edge of the distributor housing where there are slots for them. The tapped screwholes are not used.

Really? I guess that MSD cap I have will work after all.

Which makes me a feel like an idiot, running around town for 2 hours one night, looking for a screw down cap.

Does that leave the cap on securely? Does it stay on tight?

Oh it's tight. In fact, so tight that the Accel cap I once bought that had those "L" style clips was very hard to go on. I felt I was going to break the cap, so I returned it.
