hey everyone i,m putting in a vortech supercharger kit and i messed up my ait sensor trying to thread it myself. does anyone know of a theaded ait that i can get in a parts store?
I run a threaded IAT on my turbo setup. It is a basic GM part. I went into NAPA and asked them to look at their book on GM sensors and they have pictures of what things are. I found one with the same plug end, but with a threaded end. I think they had one in stock and it wasn't very expensive at all.
Sorry I don't have a part number, but it shouldn't be too hard to track down. Good luck.
Where are you guys locating your sensor on the car? Air filter, discharge tubes, or dog house?
I have my sensor right before the throttle body. This tells you what your post compressor/IC temperature is, and that is what your computer should be setting the timing for, the air entering the engine.
On the old MRII set-up I had it mounted on the elbow feeding the TB ~2" in front of the TB.
Currently, mine is mounted on the bottom side of the intake elbow right at the 4BBl flange as it enters the intake manifold. On this set-up, I mounted it further down the intake tract so that I could monitor the cooling effect of the MeOH.

Hey Guys, On a supercharged LT1/LT4 you should NOT put the IAT sensor in the blower air discharge stream if using the GM PCM. Doing so causes the PCM to pull a lot of fuel! Remember the IAT sensor cannot see mass air flow only temperature. On a blown set-up the warm air from the blower is indicative of higher mass air flow that the GM PCM does not recognize. I always locate the sensor where it will see ambient temps. I then plug the hole for the IAT with a 1/2-20 hex plug and some silicone sealant.
