Why would you want that? 4th gear is over driven in a 700R4.

The Corvette factory 700R4 should allow for WOT when in 4th (OD). The 700R4 that was in the Camaro and Firebird (F-body) would not allow that. That was a design in the F-Body to keep top speeds down. The F-Body 700R4 will fit in the Corvette but the governor (I believe that is the part in the link that is being modified) has to replaced or modded to allow WOT in 4th.

Some shops that do auto tranny repairs on Corvettes will sometime substitute an F-Body 700R4 as they might be easier to get or cheaper to buy. Then the car no longer has the WOT in 4th capability if the tranny isn't updated.

B&M makes a valve that will allow 4th gear in WOT in the f-body trans.

go to 85 mph, then add gas to go 100 mph. You are in 4th gear.
Now you need to maintain a sustained speed of 130 mph. Do you need to push the gas pedal more? YES.
How much?
it's enough to force a downshift? YES?
You are not able to maintain a sustained speed in 4th gear.
