need to program ccm in 96 vette, have tech 1 and tech 1a available with vim adapter, inline to aldl. after giving tech 1 y body style tech 1 message states to install vim which is already hooked up! can not seem to get any further, have ohmd out aldl pins have volts ground both u art lines and class 2 to ccm and my tech 2 CAN talk to ccm but of course can not program it as needed, TAC says oh so sorry, too old to offer assistance on. Anybody knowledgeable on this ? Has been a while for this old timer on tech1 VIM programming and then I worked on Cadillacs which did not require CCM to be programmed, etc
Dunno if you have the right eqpt for an OBD2 - seems to me in the 96 Y-body the
computers were arranged as master/slave, with the CCM(or BCM) controlling the
PCM.
Maybe he can aid you. Software for the 96 is not very well supported in the aftermarket.
Just a suggestion, but you might try saying 'Please' if you ask him for help, it makes a
difference to some.
I am not fluent in electronics, so I have little to offer as far as an answer. But I remembered a thread about replacing CCM's so I posted the link. Maybe there is something useful in it that maybe of assistance to your situation.
