Default Porting Question. Would it make sense...

Would it make any sense to make the longer side of the intake port smoother than the short side to help swirl on an LT1 head, like some guys do in fords? Or is there already enough swirl induced from the better port geometry? Why or why not?

PS, please don't turn this into a match of head manufactures/porters. I'm not interested in buying heads, I'm interested in learning about them. Thanks!

EDIT: Maybe my terminology is wrong, I don't mean the short side radius, I'm talking about the side walls of the port.

Thanks. I figured someone on here would set me straight. Just something I read about guys doing to fords in more than one place, so thought I'd ask about it.

the air will still travel the same through the port, you are just making the boundary layer thinner with the smooth finish and a thicker boundary layer in the rough areas.

I have seen swirl vanes welded in ports to cause more swirl and some even come with them in there (Old twisted wedge TFS SB Chevy, LS1 and LS6 heads, AFR eliminators, etc,).
