I've also been researching tires for my 92. I am getting Firestone Wide Ovals next spring. They are rated #2 by Tire Rack at $165 vs the #1 Goodyear F1's at $221.
i agree kumho's suck. i have pulled over many times thinking i had a flat, but none were flat and all were properly inflated. also the kumoho's seem to flat spot very easy. if i dont drive my vette for a few weeks, aand then drive it, it feels like its got square tires on it
I dunno about everyone else, but I'm on BFG g-force TA KDW. They seem like a good tire. And I parked the car for a week on cement went I went overseas and when I get back in the car it was fine. Just my opinion though.
What about road noise? When I bought my 91 it had some store-brand tires from pep-boys. LOUD! Bought some Z06 rims w Goodyear F-1s. Much quieter on blacktop, but still noisy on cement. Very annoying on long road trips. Are any of the others quieter, yet can still hold up well to "spirited" driving?
Haven't tried my Kuhmo's yet...they're for the track
