About 10 years ago I bought a front and rear C-4 suspension for a project that never materialized. I've forgotten what year car it came from. Is there any way to determine the year and suspension option? It is an automatic rear end. Thanks. Dan
I couldn't find any date codes on the bottom of the diff housing. On the top of the diff housing near the mounting pad is a circle witha raised dot in the middle. There is a 2 in the nine o'clock position, 84 in the twelve o'clock position and 20 in the three o'clock position. Is that a date code of Feb 20, 1984?
The spring did not have a date code, only a serial number tag on the top side. BMH018785.
By the shape of the diff housing, it came from an automatic.
It has an internal emergency brake so it's a pre-1988
I took some pictures, but couldn't figure out how to post them.
Take a look on this link at the first snapshot. I've never checked a D36 for this build information but I do expect it is there similar to the D44 that is pictured.
Post the information you find and it can be identified. If I happen to catch it I'll check it this evening for you!
I haven't been able to find any markings on the diff case except on the top of the diff housing near the mounting pad is a circle with a raised dot in the middle. There is a 2 in the nine o'clock position, 84 in the twelve o'clock position and 20 in the three o'clock position.
