Am trying to install an ATI intercooler on a 93 LT1 Vett that already has a Vortech S/C on it.
My question is regarding the hood closing. the install was pretty straight forward but when i close the hood it seems to be hitting part of the intercooler piping. anyone run into this and have a fix to offer. I would appreciate any help.
The ATI kit calls for the hoses go through the bottom in-board side of the headlight 'compartments' and then up the engine compartment between the fans and engine. It sounds like you are trying to route them a different way.
I assume that you also relocated the radiator overflow (passanger side) and vacuum reserve bottle (driver side) to facilitate the intercooler. If not, that is where your troubles lie. ATI sells a combined unit (overflow and vacuum reserve) that fits where the stocker air filter used to be.
Re: ATI intercooler question...please help. (Flame Red)
the manual for the intercooler tells me to run the piping on the outside of the radiator shroud. The overflow tank has already been moved when the vortech s/c was installed. the intercooler is supposed to sit on the radiator shroud, where the airbox was originally, along with the the intercooler piping.
The manual clearly shows that it sits on top of the radiator shroud. this is for an LT1 engine.
