Here's a video of the 10.88 pass with a 1.58 60 foot time. In other words, this is a Dana 44 on the verge of breakage. I lined up next to a turbo Fox body Mustang on this pass. Bet he was surpised.

I had to turn the parking lights on half way down the track, because I could not see the tach.

A perfectly good running street car running 10s. Outstanding! I would think the D44 could handle 1.4s. If the Dana goes on you, do you think your gonna look to a solid rear end? Im not fooled to what your secret is to your success. Not having the helmet on is a huge advantage. 129 mph, its time for a roll cage myfriend.

Congrats. Nice run. It must take special skill to drive, shift, and turn on lights in third gear (I'm not kidding) in the middle of a quarter mile run. My '84 started twisting halfshafts, breaking spindles and spider gears at around 1.5 60'. Now with a strange 12 bolt, no issues except for yearly oil changes. Best 60' had been 1.42.

He's using the 17 inch M/T ET streets. Not the drag radial, the ET street. Actual diameter is probably about 26.5 on launch and maybe 27-27.5 at the big end.

The nitrous shuts off at 6700 and the bottle never dies off at the end of the track so it's below 6700 when he crosses the stripe.

With some a couple more little things I think he can make it to 131 or so and truly max out the potential of the 4.09 gear. At that point, he'll either have to dial back to a 3.9XX gear, use a bigger tire, or shift to 5th.

Congrats those are super time but let me suggest you don't do this to often "That motor won't last" with that type of abuse.

For sure, man. We'll look you up for the next trip, which should be soon.

I know 575 crank horsepower on a stock 350 is a bit much. It's been dyno tuned with the bottle and was happy...no knock, a/f ratio is in line, and I run a bit of race gas in the tank at the track just to be safe. However, if it breaks, it'll give me the reason I need to build it bigger and better.

Warm the engine up good, then pull everything (pcv valve and hoses and all) off your valve covers, hold it at about 3500 or 4000 rpms in neutral and see how much blowby is coming out. On mine it feels like a hairdryer on low blowing out both valve covers at the same time. I get almost nothing at idle and it ran a 11.43 at 121 on a 175 shot with no smoke or oil spit at all so I didn't expect anything was wrong. I wasn't sure how much is normal (searched alot and couldn't find a definite answer as to what is acceptable and what is bad) so I did this test on my brother's '78 chevy truck with a 350, bone stock and never touched 115,000 mile engine and at 3500 rpms you can't feel it at all, just like idle. I'm losing a ton of power past the rings and I'm betting I won't get another summer out of it so I'm going to a 383 this winter. Yours could be much healthier than mine (also mine is a L98 bottom end and may not take the nitrous as well as yours) but check it when you get a chance, it only takes a few minutes.

It's been a while since I weighed the rims, but IIRC the skinnies are 23 pounds and the stock rims with MT ET Streets are 47 pounds. The car is 3,170 pounds race weight without me in it. I'm 163 pounds.

That's nice and light. You say stock rims with MT ET. What stock rims, and what size tire up front?

Skinnies are which?

Just thinking some of ways of dropping weight as well. Not sure if I want too. Just brainstorming! I will never get down to a curbweight of 163 nor would my wife want me too.

I haven't weighed my car with the C5 Z06 rims, but I know it lighten it up a tad after putting those rims/tires on. I would like to get down to 3220 ish without me of course.

The stock rims are the stock Collector Edition silver 5 spokes. The skinnies are GTO spares with M&H frontrunners. The only thing I've done to drop weight is the skinnies and no spare. I added 20+ pounds back to it with a bottle

I also should start worrying about weight a little. I'm on stock sawblade wheels, 255 tires up front, 15 lb nitrous bottle (weighs 35 lbs full) and a bigass Infinity Basslink self amplified subwoofer in the back. All I've done to cut weight is take out the spare tire. Ooh well, I'll just run a 200 shot instead of a 175 shot to make up for it! If I keep eating like I have been I'll have to run a 250 shot!!!
