Fuel Pump Question?

This just started happening and I was wondering if it's possible? It sounds like the fuel pump is still pumping even after the engine is turned off and the key is out of the ignition. I disconnected the battery and the hissing sound stops. Re-connect the battery, starts hissing! What could this be? Thanks in advance for any help. BTW, its an early '86 L98.

I am guessing a bad fuel pump relay. This is the most obvious possiblity for the problem. Hope it works out.

Chances are the Fuel Pump Relay...Hope it all works out for the better.
