I know a lot of knowlegable people do not post here anymore and these people sure are missed but, I have story to share. I have been traveling a lot and the trips are about 800 miles RT. During last trip, I noticed a stumble at cruise speeds. This is a 93 with A4. I got back yesterday and I just got on the forum and searched for problems using the word surge and stumble. After gleaning though many threads I found a host potential causes. Then lo and behold, one guy mentions in one thread to pull the egr valve out and throw it as far as you can. It hit me like a ton of bricks. I swapped the egr valve out of my 94 and put it my 93 last week because the 93 had been throwing the egr code about once every trip. Of course it would go away on its own, but I was tired of seeing it. The 94 egr valve never threw a code, but it made my car lose about two mpg and it did start as crisp as before. So, I put my original egr valve back in my 93 and the surge/stumble is gone and the car starts really quick and yes, it threw a code right away. Whats up with these egr valves anyway?

So, I wrote this thread to share my problem and solution because this problem is very subtle and I did not notice it the 94 because my daughter drives it mostly. This is my "For What its Worth Thread".

I love the forum! I think I would have gone broke long ago without it . Then again, I probably spent more money than I saved on additional mods

I've also noticed the disappearence of many Vette veterans !! Where did all the talent go ?? Did CF also have a massive layoff in this economic meltdown.....

C4GURU perhaps?

I'm new to the corvetteforum world, but not new to cars. I learned more working on my 91 Camaro than I did in the classroom while I was in college. And the LS1 Trans Am was nice until some kid didn't see me and totalled it. Then I decided instead of replacing it with another LS1, I'd go back to the older technology that I am more familiar with. Found a nice 92 vette for a good price and never looked back. I had to hold off on the mods for a few years because of a job change, a house project that makes a frame up resto project sound easy, and a new garage to store/work on my car in. But now that I'm gearing up for my first winter car project in four or five years, I've found this forum to be very informational. I think the odds of reaching my goal have definately increased with some of the knowledge I have gained from some very smart people in here. (Thanks everyone!) And on a few occasions I've been able to use my own experience to help out other forum members. Eventually, I'll have a lot more vette specific experience to draw from and hopefully be able to help out others as much as I've been helped here. And of course I can hardly wait to brag about some results...
