Default [Gauge Pod]: Installing/Customizing

I'm installing some switches in the pod before installation. The red switch is cooling fans, and the green and yellow switches will be power for the gauges so that I can turn them off. :)

Those appear to be BLUE?
If so, You better convert your dash over to blue as well! :D

So what gauges did you decide upon? I see fuel pressure, what else?

The 2nd pod will be empty for right now. I need to make up a dummy plate for it. Yes the top is fuel pressure, and is blue. :) It matches the dash (shape/size) and my radio (shape/size/color) perfectly.

Scorp,

Very

Don't waste your $ on a air/fuel ratio sensor like I did :(

Scorp, That looks great. Why don't you cut out the dummy plate to fit the Harlan shift lite, it would be great!

When are you installing the Pod?

Make sure you hook up the dimmer feature so the gauges go dim when you turn the headlights on. If not, they are way too bright.

Well, I am just a poser at this point. The pod is installed and the cooling fans switch works. I've run the wires down the a-pillar, and tapped into a 12V switched I found (pink/black) for the gauge. The gauge doesn't power up though. Hmm...

I still have to hook up.

-Sending Lead (waiting on a fuel rail fitting)
-Dimmer Lead

It should of powered up and given me a ERR message, but didn't. It is too cold and dark to figure it out right now. I'll finish it up this weekend.

Scorp, how did you connect the sending unit to the fuel rail? I am using the hose off my normal fuel pressure guage, but I'd like something a little less hokey.

Well, it isn't yet.... but will be. :) I'm waiting for Summit to ship a part.

Three pieces necessary between the fuel rail and sending unit.

-4AN Female to -4AN Female Union
-4AN 90* Elbow Male to 1/4" NPT Male
1/4" NPT Female to Female Union

Also removing the valve core in the schrader valve.

They do sell single gauge pods also. I was told that my harlan light is WAY too bright to have at eye level. So that is out. I have had that thing over a year and a half and have still not installed it. :)
