I'm surprised this hasn't been posted earlier too.
I just visited the TPiS website a few minutes ago and saw the news of this new EGR kit. This is FANTASTIC news for those of us who want to run the MiniRam but still have to deal with the 'sniffer' test (or should I say, "...those of us who want to minimize our environmental impact?").
I wonder if anyone has ordered up this kit yet... ? I'll probably be ordering myself when I get back to Canada, but I'd like to hear the experiences of others who've already installed an EGR on their MiniRams using this new kit. Is there any special machining or fabrication required, or this just a simple bolt-on kit?

I see they have a disclaimer saying "This product is not C.A.R.B. certified"
In the area where I live, if it cannot pass the visual or does not have a C.A.R.B #, end of the test regardless what comes out of the tail pipes legal or other wise.

I know they aren't quite that strict in Ontario, Canada - as long as there's an EGR visible AND the car passes emissions, there's no questions.
But in your case, how would the technician know that there's no C.A.R.B. number? I mean, even performance parts that have C.A.R.B. numbers don't always display their C.A.R.B. numbers openly.
Its a good idea for some guys but the price is pretty high. I am glad I don't nee one yet. State is taking over local smog control in January. Not sure what will happen.

Some of these smog techs are pretty sharp as I found out.
On my 76SS El Camino, I had a HEI Accel coil on it plus a MSD 6A ignition box that didn't have any Carb or EO numbers on them.
He told me the numbers right off of the head for each and then went to his computer to verify.
I was able to pass and when I got back home decided to go to a website and see what was legal.
Sure enough, the numbers he gave me were correct...

True, I have met some pretty smart techs who really know their stuff. Although I've never met a tech that could recite E.O. numbers off by heart. That's pretty amazing.
Fortunately for me, the place where I take my car for smog tests employees kids that are right out of high school. Not only aren't they quite "on the ball" when it comes to E.O. numbers, they lose their minds when a nice car rolls into the shop. LOL!!!

You're right, the price is high for what you get (especially considering that it doesn't come with a new EGR valve, instead you have to reuse your old one). But, if you're one of those unfortunate souls who need it...
