I've rebuilt my L98, kept it a 350 and added new 30# injectors among many other things (aggressive cam, Ling. intake, ported/polished heads) and find that the car doesn't start w/out a lot of 'coaxing' once its been driven and then shut off for a few min's. Should I replace the stock fuel pump?
Before replacing the pump, I would verify that fuel pressure is actually the problem. Put a fuel pressure gauge on it and look at the pressure when it won't start. My 383 LT4 put down 450 RWHP on the stock fuel pump.
If you do decide that you need a pump, Racetronix has some nice kits with Walbro pumps.
Checking line pressure is the only way to diagnose what the pump is doing. Also if you do upgrade to an aftermarket pump you will need to rewire it with a heavier gauge ground and feed line. Otherwise you will overheat relays left and right like my camaro's 383 did.
