Well, my luck. My '85 doesn't have '85 headlight motors! I had already bought the gears for the '84-'87s...now I see that I need the bushings for the 88-96.
Question, does lowes carry them? If so, part number? Thanks!
eh, nevermind. I ordered all new bushings and gears for it. The gear was in pretty bad shape too, and the bushings were just powder.
Wonder why my '85 has the newer style headlights?
Anybody need some gears for the 84-87s? I've got a set that'll I'll let go for $20.
The previous owner probably decided to retrofit it with the improved headlight motors in the 1988-96 models. With the exception of the Delrin bushings, they're generally more reliable than the first-gen units.
Your probably right. Along with that, he dropped in a 500hp engine, built transmission, rearend gears, a driveshaft safety loop, and the newer support system for the hood. I'm glad and mad.

Nope, I've got both gears for one side.
On a side note, these things are pretty easy to rebuild!
