I had a problem with the passenger side headlamp motor, I think it was the classic problem of the motion running excessively because of worn bushings. Ordered and installed new motor, plugged it in and no action on the new motor when I turned the headlamps on. The driver side still worked fine. Took the motor off again, plugged it into the driver side and it worked when I pulled the headlamp switch. Then I put a voltmeter on the plug to the driver side and noticed a 12-volt pulse when the motor is unplugged and the switch pulled. Tried the same thing on the passenger side, nothing. Therefore, I think the new motor is good but that I am not getting power on the passenger side to the motor. No obvious broken wires and I had power when the old motor was in place. Fuses look good. The wires disappear into a larger bundle so that would be a pain to trace. Short of running a new pair of wires from the driver’s side to the passenger side, any ideas?
Try plugging the Old headlight motor in again see if it still gets power.
If it doesn't, check the Headlight Opening Actuator Module mounted to the front driver side wheel well. It's a square black box with two weather pack connectors going to it. I pryed it open once and found black residue on one of the switch relay's which prevented the passenger side motor to get power.
The Headlight Opening Actuator Module is $189 at Eckler's.
GKK, thanks for the heads up on the Actuator Module that I did not know existed. Old motor would not work either on passenger side. I checked the continuity on both wires from the Module to the new motor on the passenger side – fine. I then put a pair of jumpers from the power output to the driver side motor over to the input on the passenger side new motor, worked fine. Pulled the Module apart as you indicated, no obvious problem but I am now guessing the Module is gone anyway. I will order a new module, ouch on the price but I am optimistic.
