The steering column is loose on my 85 Vette. If I hold it down it seems secure to the bottom, left and right. I have seen a diagram and see that there are two bolt holes. How do I get these bolts to secure the column as painless as possible? From the dash behind the display or from under the dash?

The pivot pins and housing are worn, do a search and you will find many articles on the issue. It's not an easy fix, you need dig way down into the guts of the steering column...
