"Performance gear ratio" ?
Not sure on your 90 but inside the center consul door on my 87 is a sticker that lists all of the options that the car was delivered with and this includes the rear axle ratio of which mine is a 3.07
It is identification of the fact that the optional ratio for that year has been installed.
The actual diff ratio is identified by the normal RPO code listed ;
G??

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

G92 simply means "performance gear ratio"
G44 means 3.07 ratio which was the optional ratio in my case a 86 coupe.
........................................ .........
G44 - 3.07 Rear Axle Ratio
GHO - 3.54 Rear Axle Ratio
GM1 - 2.59 Rear Axle Ratio
GM3 - 3.45 Rear Axle Ratio
GT7 - 3.33 rear axle ratio
GU2 - 2.73 Rear Axle Ratio
G87 - ring gear 8.50 inch
G92 - Performance Axle Ratio
........................................ .........
G87 = D44 (in C4)
G92 means the installed ratio is the optional one for that MY.

my question is why is it no one runs high gears , like 355 373
if you have a 6 spd seems you could have low end and a decent top end speed.and Automatics are 5 speed ..im from the old school where i use to run 411's and 456's on the street.. running either 4 speed stick or 3 speed auto.
Just Wondering ?
