wHEEL SWAP C5 , C4
Has anyone swapped stock rear 17" wheels from a c4 with c5 18"wheels . Stock are 17x9.5, backspace 7.5", c5 are 18"x10.5 backspace 8.02....Dont what to buy tires yet unless these are gonna fit...Posted a note in hte other section, no replies yet. Anyfeedback would be greatly appreciated. My vette is a 92 lt1 with 275 40 17s....tHANX JIM

I have my drag radials on stock C5 wheels. They fit fine. I like the look of my ZR1 wheels better, but the C5 wide spoke stock wheels are for the track only, so looks don't matter, speed does.

I just swapped on 4 OEM ZO6 18 x10.5's all around with super wide Dunlop 300/660-18 racing tires. Fronts fit perfect but I am not so sure about the rears, it looks very close between the tire and the trailing arm brackets. Have not test drove it yet.

thanks for the feedback ....Just to be safe ordered 275 35 18s for the rear, this keeps my speedo as accurate as possible. Currently running 275 40 17s alll the way around and am very pleased with handling. Just an update, I resolved the clearance issue on my rear 18 x 10.5 Z06 OEM's with wide Dunlop racing 300/660-18's by using a 3mm spacer(no effect on lugnut engagement) and carefully grinding the trailing arm bracket in the area of potential interference.
