vibration from torque converter?

vibration from torque converter?
Today I noticed that my car has a vibration from 1500 rpm to 1600. Everytime I cross this range accelerating or decelerating it vibrates the car. I especially feel this vibration in the gas pedal. I was thinking it could be the torque converter because it stops when the converter engages right around 1600. If I take off fast I just feel a little bumpy sensation from 15-16k as the torque converter grabs. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is this what would happen if my converter failed?

Mine was doing exactly the same thing and I thought it was the torque converter also, but it ended up being the right rear bearing :yesnod: . The car would shake your teeth out between approx. 1500-1800 rpms, if I nailed it from a dead stop you couldn't feel a thing. Hope this helps :cheers:

I've done a little research, and think I am experiencing "torque converter shudder". Can anyone confirm this? Apparently it can be caused by not changing your transmission fluid often enough. My fluid is dark red/brownish but doesn't smell burnt. I bought Amsoil fluid to replace it with, but I wasn't going to power flush or anything. I guess I am just dilluting the old fluid. I guess I won't be driving the vette until I figure this out.
