87 Corvette Speedometer Problem
I was racing my 87 vette at aprox. 130 mph when my stock digital speedometer then displayed several strange numbers for a second and went to 0 mph. Now it only displays 0 mph and the odometer, fuel milage, etc. have stopped working. I don't think there is a fuse for it, so what could have gone wrong?

Sounds like the VSS or the speedo gear died. The speedo gear operates the VSS, The VSS sends the electronic signal to the dash. Its all on the transmission where you would normally attach a speedo cable. Never had trouble with mine, just passing on what Ive picked here.

thanks very much. I'm pretty new to this car and haven't figured out all that stuff yet, and the general repair manual i bought at kragen is garbage. I'll crawl under there today and see what i can find out!
