Default aftermarket D44

I could have sworn I saw a company was going to start producing D44 carriers.Anyone heard anything about this,if I recall it was in one of my Corvette rags.

I saw the ad in Corvette Fever and instantly shot them an e-mail since I am interested....yes, they are very, very proud of their parts...

Nice set up however, they do some modifications making the whole rear set up a little stronger than the OEM parts, and you can select your gearing but my my gosh..... let's just say I opted to "hold off" on that upgrade.

That is one expensive Dana 44, for another 1K, I would get a solid rear.

Exactly for a little more than 1k I can set you up with a solid rear 9" or 12 bolt that will hold up 10x longer than what they show there.

Plus their design still does not address the weakest links of the D44/IRS design.

It really doesn't matter..I'm not going to put a $3ooo or $4ooo rear end in a car I paid $6,500 for!

You are the exception here...you race yours hard and need this type of strength. I chuckle because hot-rodder's like me just build as a hobby and never really put the drivetrain to the test.

Have to agree with ski_dwn_it here. Though I didn't go with his kit it's a great option - after fighting with the IRS I had enough and went solid axle.

I'm just looking at the center section to replace so I can keep the stock in case something happens. I have another thread going but haven't got alot of responses. Any horror stories out there lurking around? (from the companies)
