i am told that i have to use on from a 1985. is this true? why? mine is not repairable. it ran into my fist!? anyway, i found a couple on ebay from a 1988, and 89. can i make them work? maybe someone here has what i need?
Knee jerk reaction is you must use one from an 85. However Gene Tabor modified an 86 so it would work in my 85. His phone number is 1-888-454-1911. Give him a call. BTW 85 dashes are very hard to find. Good Luck.
yeah you will have to modify (at best) a newer dash to get it to work in your car, but theres a slim chance on that, you will need to get one specifically for your year. There really isnt much crossover in digidashs, except maybe 87-88
The only years that are identical are 87/88. The other issue is that they are also cruise control, and non-cruise control dashes. If you have CC, you would want one out of a CC car.
I don't know if the '85 is particularly different because of the slower computer, but it may be. I honestly don't konw.
alright. now my head is spinning. dont know what to do?
by the wat, i have not had a chance to mess with the cooling issue. i will however keep you guys up to date.
I've got one from my '85 w/auto and cruise I'll let you have
for $200. It was working when I took it out last August. I'm
rebuilding most of the car and am putting in analog gauges so
I won't be using the digital cluster.
Shoot me an e-mail if you're interested and we can discuss.
