Default Fikse FM/5 Wheels

Hi!

I am wanting to get a quote on a set of Fikse FM/5 wheels (all black) for my '89. Short of just calling the order number on the Fikse website, does anyone know a good source for getting a quote on these wheels?

Thanks!

/s/ Chris Kennedy

It may be that one would pay less through an authorized Fikse distributor than going directly to Fikse.
I know this was the case about six months ago when I received a quote from LPE compared to the quote from Fikse direct.

I can't imagine why you would want to have a conversation regarding a purchase with anyone other than "FIKSE"!

It's their product! Your questions regarding "fitment" need to be discussed with a person that "understands" the product! Fikse would likely refer you to a "dealer/reseller" for the buy and it's certainly likely you might be able to "swing a deal" with a reseller. Fikse I'm sure has reseller agreements with their dealers and it's their obligation not to "undersell" their "reseller"! It's a bit easier these days to deal with a "reseller" that understands he's relying on a buyer who "wants" the product and doesn't "NEED" the product.

Now, if there's not a dealer/reseller in the area you might be treated very well by Fikse direct!

When I spoke with Fikse direct they did not refer me to a reseller. I had a written quote the same day with contract enclosed
for my signature and return with 50% payment. I was later surprised that Lingenfelter could offer the same set at over $100 per wheel less.
I've no doubt LPE could have helped me with fitment issues, I just decided I couldn't afford the product at that time.

I think a forum member just bought a set of Fikse FM/5 wheels a couple of weeks ago. Check out link below. Some good pics as well

Thanks, everyone. I received a quote of about $3800 for all-black Fiske FM/5s. That's a good bit more than I want to pay and, frankly, should be paying for wheels. Currently, I am running all black (NO polished rim) C5 Z06 wheels on the car. I have lowered the rear, and while I like the wheels a great deal and the total "stealth" look, I have been thinking that a set of these Fiske wheels on a lowered front would REALLY look terrific---you know how it is. I think in the not too distant future I will just lower the front a bit (perhaps install the VetteBrakes adjustable spring), and use the money for upkeep, etc., and be happy with the stealth look I already have and how it will be improved with the lowered front.

Cheers,
/s/ Chris

The price you were quoted for the Fikse's was a pretty good deal. How much were you expecting to pay for good wheels??

Quality costs money.

Why do you think every other C4 you see on the road has ZR-1/CE 5-spokers or C5 Z06 wheels....because their owners don't want to pay the price for quality wheels. They want cheap Taiwanese reproductions, instead.

IMHO.

I just can't understand that mindset....

I was expecting something in the mid $2000s range, where I believe other quality wheels, such as Complete Customs (?) can be found----actually, so far my reproduction all-black C5 ZO6s have been doing just fine (about 25,000 pretty rigorous miles--this car is no trailer queen and is my only vehicle). Something I have learned the hard way about cars (and other things) is that sometimes there is not an automatic link between quality and price. The Fikse are beautiful, and I'm sure the highest quality, but I just can't afford that much quality.

Cheers,
/s/ Chris

CCW's are the least expensive of the good quality wheels. The other popular true custom wheels...HRE, Fikse, Forgeline, etc....will all run around $4000 a set MSRP. I'm not sure how CCW keeps their price so low, but they do.

So, why not get the CCW's??
They are the price you expected to pay, and are a very good wheel.....

I may very well do what you suggest about the CCWs---their website also says that you can order them in total black. I'll contact them today and see what the quote comes out to. Thanks for your tips/suggestions about cost/quality.

Merry Christmas,

Chris,
Last quote I got from John at CCW for 8.5" and 10.5" wide in 17" Classic clear coated was about 2700 dollars with lugs.I think black anodize will be a few hundred more and of course any wider and larger will also be a little more.
I only paid 3250 dollars from Fikse for my FM5 Techni polish wheels 8.5" and 10.5" x 17" last year shipped to my door with lugs.

I just spoke with CCW---regular size (17 x 9.5) Classics in all black quoted at $2516.00.

I bought the wheels in my sig about 4 years ago...absolutly love them. IMO they are the best looking wheel for a C4. Recnetly picked up a set of CCWs as IMO these look like they mean business.

Just need a set of HREs for the trifecta.

Default Fikse wheel cost

This thread makes my sale price of Fikse wheels (84 to 87) appear extremely reasonable. I believe they are as my original receipt is my reminder.

These rims look great on your C4. What size tires are you running and your Fikse's are they 17 & 18s or what? Good looking.
